Post-editing

The international business community is making more and more use of machine translation systems like Google Translate and Systran.

The output of these automated systems only bears a minor resemblance to a translation produced by a professional translator.

For example, in a machine translation, verbs may vanish into thin air, a sentence’s meaning may be reversed 180° or the text may be rife with grammatical errors. Therefore, such texts usually need to be revised to a certain extent. This revision process is called post-editing.
